Purpose

Brain Food is a blog that was created to provide you with resources, positive thoughts and testimonials pertaining to mental health. The name Brain Food comes from the idea that we need to “feed our minds with positive thoughts.” Positivity is key in enhancing and maintaining your mental health. I am a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. What is Recreation Therapy? “A systematic process that utilizes recreation and other activity-based interventions to address the assessed needs of individuals with illnesses and/or disabling conditions, as a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being.” I am currently pursuing a degree in Mental Health Counseling.
